Alle Reaktionen von Zellen sind bestimmt durch eine Vielzahl von Genen, die im Proteom ihren Ausdruck finden. Traditionel sucht sich der Wissenschaftler ein oder mehrere dieser Proteine aus, um sie zu untersuchen. Mit der Proteomik-Technologie, die jetzt am Institut für Immunologie unter der Leitung von Professor Dr. Claude P. Muller aufgebaut wird, ist es möglich, gleichzeitig einige tausend Proteine innerhalb einer Zelle zu untersuchen.
