This yearly meeting of the Greater East section of GFP, the Groupe Français d’Etudes et d’Applications des Polymères, will be organised by the Advanced Materials and Structures (AMS) department of CRP Henri Tudor. The department is member of the Greater East sector since September 2010. The event concerns everyone working with polymers in the Greater East region: PhD students, academic and industrial researchers in the polymer materials sector and their applications. The call for papers closes on 27 April 2011.

At the 4th edition of the Luxembourg Intellectual Property Day (IP Day 2011), which will take place on 26 April, the Intellectual Property Office of the Ministry of the Economy and Foreign Trade, in collaboration with Luxinnovation, the Technology Watch Centre and the Chamber of Commerce, organises a conference entitled “Trade marks and models: use and fight against counterfeits”. In parallel, stands bringing together intellectual property actors will be available during the whole afternoon.
Determining the exact position of a person or physical objects is becoming increasingly important in our mobile society, therefore reliable localisation data is essential but poses a challenge for engineers and scientists as positioning data can be manipulated too easily. The SnT - Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (UNI) and experts at itrust consulting have entered a long-term partnership to develop a service provider system that can detect such manipulations.
The report "SSH Experiences with FP7 - a Commentary" focuses on the experience of SSH researchers with the 7th EU Framework Programme for Research (FP7), their assessment of the programme, and a list of recommendations for future EU research funding programmes. By doing so, it provides essential background reading in the current debate about the EU "Green Paper" on a "Common Strategic Framework for EU Research and Innovation funding".

On 31 March 2011, the AAL Joint Programme has launched its Fourth Call for Proposals with the topic "ICTbased Solutions for Advancement of Older Persons´ Mobility". The core of the AAL Joint Programme is to provide innovative ICT-based solutions to older persons, which means innovative products, systems or services addressing identified wishes and needs of the end-users. The closing deadline for the submission of proposals is 30 June 2011 (17h00).
