The Second Luxembourgish Nutrition Conference (NuLux) - Dietary composition, Pattern and Health aims to stimulate a lively discussion among various stakeholders in the area of food and health, including researchers from the medical area, nutrition and food science, but also dieticians and consumers. Actors in the field are cordially invited to join us and actively participate in this conference by presenting an oral communication and/or a poster. Abstract submission deadline is 18 April 2011.
This yearly meeting of the Greater East section of GFP, the Groupe Français d’Etudes et d’Applications des Polymères, will be organised by the Advanced Materials and Structures (AMS) department of CRP Henri Tudor. The department is member of the Greater East sector since September 2010. The event concerns everyone working with polymers in the Greater East region: PhD students, academic and industrial researchers in the polymer materials sector and their applications. The call for papers closes on 27 April 2011.

Luxembourg, the National Agency for Innovation and Research, presented an overview of its activities in 2010 in the presence of Jeannot Krecké, Minister of the Economy and Foreign Trade, at the occasion of the publication of its annual report. The agency, which is situated at the heart of the national innovation system, works closely with entrepreneurs and researchers in order to help them concretise their innovative ideas.
EuroCloud Luxembourg Awards 2011

EuroCloud Luxembourg, the association of the Luxembourg Cloud Computing and SaaS industry and member of the pan-European EuroCloud network, is pleased to announce the launch of the 1st edition of the "EuroCloud Luxembourg Awards" in 2011. This award program is organized with the support of ITnation.eu and winners will be announced at the "Golden-i” Gala and Awards Ceremony on 19th of May 2011. Participation is aimed at providers of Cloud services that are active in the local market.
The FITT conference "ICT INNOVATIONS: Research -> Business -> Society - Join, Share and Improve ICT Technology Transfer in Europe" aims to stimulate dialogues among European stakeholders involved in ICT research, technology transfer and innovation policy in order to jointly improve the transfer of Europe´s excellent ICT research results into marketable business opportunities. At the 4th edition of the Luxembourg Intellectual Property Day (IP Day 2011), which will take place on 26 April, the Intellectual Property Office of the Ministry of the Economy and Foreign Trade, in collaboration with Luxinnovation, the Technology Watch Centre and the Chamber of Commerce, organises a conference entitled “Trade marks and models: use and fight against counterfeits”. In parallel, stands bringing together intellectual property actors will be available during the whole afternoon.
Determining the exact position of a person or physical objects is becoming increasingly important in our mobile society, therefore reliable localisation data is essential but poses a challenge for engineers and scientists as positioning data can be manipulated too easily. The SnT - Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (UNI) and experts at itrust consulting have entered a long-term partnership to develop a service provider system that can detect such manipulations.
The report "SSH Experiences with FP7 - a Commentary" focuses on the experience of SSH researchers with the 7th EU Framework Programme for Research (FP7), their assessment of the programme, and a list of recommendations for future EU research funding programmes. By doing so, it provides essential background reading in the current debate about the EU "Green Paper" on a "Common Strategic Framework for EU Research and Innovation funding".
Researchers, engineers, entrepreneurs, innovators, students and other creative individuals have until 10 May to suggest a relevant, appealing and catchy name for the new EU research and innovation programme which will be introduced post-2013. The competition launched by the European Commission is linked to the ongoing stakeholder consultation on the Commission's Green Paper on the new programme which will be at the core of the Innovation Union initiative and of the Europe 2020 Strategy.

Improving the safety and daily lives of European citizens thanks to radio navigation, guiding tractors by satellite for high-yield crops, optimizing response to humanitarian crisis… This is not science fiction but just a few examples of innovations related to space technologies developed today. This crucial role of space is reflected in the EC communication presented today as a 1st step of an integrated Space Policy to be developed with the new legal basis provided by the Lisbon Treaty.
On 31 March 2011, the AAL Joint Programme has launched its Fourth Call for Proposals with the topic "ICTbased Solutions for Advancement of Older Persons´ Mobility". The core of the AAL Joint Programme is to provide innovative ICT-based solutions to older persons, which means innovative products, systems or services addressing identified wishes and needs of the end-users. The closing deadline for the submission of proposals is 30 June 2011 (17h00).
