Main axes of research
Since 1994, EVA has been interested in the chemical and physical processes that take place in hydrosystems and geosystems, in connection with the management of the major natural resources that are water and soil. The great complexity of the interactions existing between the various processes involved in the water cycle, and the determinism of water and soil quality are addressed by a multidisciplinary and multiple-scale approach, in order to develop decision support tools for a sustainable land-use management.
Research subjects include:
- Experimental and analytical hydrology
- Hydrological and hydraulic modelling
- Climatology and meteorology
- Remote sensing and land-use management
- Hydrogeochemistry of surface and ground water
- Soil sciences
Application domains
Environmental monitoring and management in the sectors of air, water, and soil. Natural hazard and risk analysis and management.
