Main axes of research
Embracing the end-to-end arguments in system design, ComSys focuses on integrated research in three areas:
- Information Transfer is concerned with information transmission over potentially complex channels and networks.
- Communicating Systems in turn are the composition of multiple distributed entities employing communication networks to collaboratively achieve a common goal.
- Grid Computing: Luxembourg has been very active, through the Restena foundation, as a player in the European grid infrastructures (networks). CSC deployed a 160-core cluster early 2008 in order to fully participate to Grid5000, making of Luxembourg the 4th country after France, the Netherlands and Japan.
