Description of activities
ABL is a SME, created in 2000 as a spin-off from the Public Research Centre for Health, holding large expertise in infectious diseases and more specifically in the molecular biology and clinical outcome predictors of HIV, hepatitis and HPV viruses.
As a clinical S/W and information company, ABL develops and provides decision support S/W for healthcare professionals who are caring for people with potentially life threatening chronic diseases.
ABL provides a comprehensive longitudinal database that measures the quality of care, identifies best practices, and assesses effectiveness through diagnostic testing. ABL´s vision is to help improve the quality of care for people living with HIV by assisting their healthcare providers with HIV specific therapeutic decision support and medical record systems that use the latest medical research and expertise in the field. HIV/AIDS, hepatitis and liver diseases, oncology and diabetis are the fields of expertise and interest.

- ABL´s patented web-based and local TherapyEdge Box System allows clinicians to identify and to deliver the best therapies for people living with complex, chronic diseases.
- TherapyEdge-HIV is an HIV specific patient record, decision support, monitoring and reporting system with built in HIV specific decision support.
- ViroScore Suite is an HIV drug resistance interpretation system and sequence storage database with built-in analysis and reporting tools.
- TherapyEdge-Rapid Capture module was created in direct response to the needs of large hospitals and clinics that see a large number of HIV patients every day.
- TherapyEdge Mobile Solutions enables data capture and medical decision support whilst healthcare professionals are visiting patients outside. Data synchronisation is made by Wifi and 3G communication.
- TherapyEdge Down-Referral allows patients in a stable condition to receive their treatment in small clinics close to their homes.
