The mission of the Junior Chamber International Luxembourg (JCEL) is to provide young people with opportunities for development. The objective is to empower them to create positive changes. Members, aged between 18 and 40, can engage in various projects according to their interests. JCEL most notably organises the Creative Young Entrepreneur Luxembourg Award (CYEL).

JCEL wishes to provide young people with the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, social responsibility, business spirit and solidarity. Members devise and carry out projects in all areas: social, economic, cultural and community-based. They are trained in project management methodology: investigation, analysis, planning, action, evaluation and transmission.

The activities of JCEL are based on 4 points:

  • the individual: active participation in projects allows members to develop their sense of responsibility and their leadership skills. They can also attend or host seminars on various topics, such as public speaking, time management, mind mapping, etc.
  • Community: Projects are conducted to help find solutions to the community’s problems: economic development, democracy, education, etc.
  • Internationalism: international conferences, academies, and opportunities for twinning allow members to better understand other cultures and forge new friendships.
  • Business: the structure of JCEL is conducive to the establishment or strengthening of business contacts through forums, conferences, partnership programmes and the search for partners. These contacts are facilitated by the provision of international business networks.

JCEL is affiliated with the Junior Chamber International (JCI), global federation of young leaders and entrepreneurs. It brings together 200,000 members in 100 countries and approximately 5,000 local Junior Chambers.

JCI is a non-governmental international organisation that actively participates in the United Nations (UN). In this context, JCI is in contact with the Secretary General's Office of the UN and has a consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
