Enterprises located in Luxembourg which are preparing a European research project can apply for financial support from the Ministry of the Economy and Foreign Trade. 

The objective of the Fit4Europe measure is to encourage the participation of Luxembourg enterprises in European research programmes: the 7th European Framework Programme for research and technological development (FP7), the Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) programme and the Eurostars programme. 

This aid is intended for enterprises of any size established in Luxembourg which are planning to submit a proposal for any of the above programmes. It provides a substantial contribution to the following expenses:

• internal costs: linked to the search for partners, to the elaboration and to the preparation of the proposal;
• external costs: linked to the involvement of consultants and experts.

The aid takes the form of a lump sum grant, the amount of which depends on the company's role in the prospective project and on the results of the European evaluation:

• between €2,500 and 7,500 for a project participant
• between €10,000 and 20,000 for a project coordinator

In order to take advantage of the Fit4Europe measure, companies must fulfil the criteria for eligibility cited in the information sheet which can be downloaded at the bottom of this page. In addition, companies must declare their intention of assembling or participating in an FP7 project within the following timeframes: 2 months before the closing date of the call for proposals for project coordinators, and 1 month before the closing date of the call for proposals for project participants.

• FP7 project participation declaration forms, to be returned to Luxinnovation within the specified deadlines
• funding request forms, to be submitted to Luxinnovation once the results of the evaluation of the FP7 project proposal have been received
