The National Research Fund (FNR) has put into place several accompanying measures in order to create suitable framework conditions for scientific research in Luxembourg. A range of actors can benefit from these measures: researchers, public research organisations, associations carrying out activities promoting scientific culture, etc.
These accompanying measures provide financial support to:

Project applications for accompanying measure support can be submitted at any time during the year. Specific timeframes apply to each measure. Applications should be sent directly to the FNR.
This measure supports awareness-raising activities on scientific issues among the Luxembourg population:
All public research institutions in Luxembourg are eligible for this accompanying measure, as well as associations and individuals (teachers, students) pursuing activities of a scientific nature.
Three specific measures support researcher training and mobility:
The FNR encourages researchers to present their results at scientific conferences abroad and to establish scientific contacts at an international level (measure AM2a). This measure targets PhD students and PhD holders up to 8 years after having completed their PhD.
Through the measure AM2b, the FNR supports:
Researcher mobility is promoted to encourage researchers to carry out research projects in a foreign country (measure AM2c). The national grant for researcher mobility targets Luxembourg researchers who wish to go abroad, but also foreign researchers who want to undertake research activities in Luxembourg.
The FNR co-finances the organisation of national and international conferences, colloquia and workshops in Luxembourg. Conferences should have a scientific content and a scientific committee to plan the programme. The level of financing depends on the size of the conference.
This measure specifically targets public research institutions as well as non-profit associations pursuing activities of a scientific nature in Luxembourg. Individuals and private organisations are excluded from this measure.
This measure aims at supporting costs associated with scientific publications (including PhD theses). Various costs are eligible: layout, printing, corrections and, in exceptional cases, translation.
The measure is open for authors and editors of scientific publications.
