With the PEARL programme, the National Research Fund (FNR) seeks to encourage public research institutions to attract internationally recognised senior researchers.
The main objective is to enhance the research institution’s competences and capacities with the aim of strengthening its strategic priorities. At the same time, the programme should strengthen national research priorities (which correspond to the priorities of the CORE programme) in order to increase the quality and the international exposure of Luxembourg research.
Luxembourg public research institutions interested in participating in the programme should present a research position open for an internationally renowned senior researcher. The position should have a strategic importance for the institution and contribute to strengthening and/or developing national research priorities.
Selected projects should have a duration of 5 years. The FNR generally supports 1-2 positions per year. Luxembourg public research institutions who wish to participate in the programme can submit proposals to the FNR at any time during the year.
The ATTRACT programme aims to attract outstanding young researchers to Luxembourg.
