Abstract

A German research institute develops and produces innovative technical systems consisting of sensors, software and communications technology to ensure a modern maintenance and spare part management for production and logistics applications. A successful application is the monitoring, condition assessment and workshop control in material handling equipment such as straddle carriers. Collaboration with industrial and academic partners for implementation and further development is sought.

Description

Maintenance has become a key competitive factor. The greatest potential for condition-based maintenance is the reduction of downtime and consequently the increase of machine availability as well as utilization of the maximum wear stores. In addition, a more efficient utilization of workshop and more efficient processes can be achieved.

In various collaborative projects it has developed a comprehensive platform that is suitable for applied industrial projects. Maintenance tasks in the production and logistics with special consideration of the particular aspects of mobility and the retrofitting of existing systems can be equipped with them. The use of algorithms according to the state of the art also includes prognostic correlations. In addition, the modular design allows the application in related scenarios. Essential functions of a fleet management system will be covered, can be expanded and integrated into planning and control problems.
