Abstract

A Swedish SME within the door automation sector is looking for a partner that could help them with their last steps of their product development and to put the product on the market. They need help in finishing the design of electrical parts of their swing door operator, manufacture and introduce the product to the market.
Their swing door operator is patented in 13 countries.

Description

The operator is designed to handle door leaves with weight up to 80 kg. Four different versions of the operator are developed. The operator has a modular design and it is so small that it is possible to easily build it in into the doors.

The mechanical solutions of the operator are finished but the electrical solutions needs to be redesigned, both the hardware and software.

The motor and the tube contains a shock absorber and a spring package which are the same in all operator versions. It is just the "head" and some parts inside it that has to be changed to develop the four different versions.

The spring is normally not working; this means that the door is very easy to open, even if power fails.

The rotation direction of outgoing shaft is controlled from the main PCB (printed circuit boards), no changes at all is necessary on the mechanical parts.

The purpose with this invention is to develop a small, cheap automatic swing door operator who could replace and take market shares from ordinary door closer.
